Everyone in my online social circle is pants crappingly excited about him showing up at the Star Wars Celebration this year. I'm convinced they only loved him because the actor was hot. His acting was so fucking bad, it's not even funny. He seems like a decent sort of person and is supposed to be nice to his fans, but you cannot sit there and say he's a good actor when he was clearly miscast for this role.

You know, I saw a post about him recently that pointed out if you watch gifs of the movies with him in it, he's really not bad. The body language is spot on and you can tell exactly what's going on in the scene.

It's just as soon as you add sound to it.... uuurg. But then again, he wasn't classically trained in how to make awkward unnatural sounding dialogue like Shakespeare sound good for a modern audience. Most of the people who were able to do passably well in the moves were.

You're not wrong, but he's not the first and won't be the last actor who's got more looks than talent. No one came out of the prequels looking good, and unlike, say, George Lucas, Christenson does seem like a decent sort who is nice to his fans. Just let them have this. I'm sure you've got your own stuff to squee about.
