I was put off of the Special manga from the beginning because of fans of it saying it was sooooo much better/mature than the games/anime! I mean, look! An Arbok gets cut in half and they said a swear!! So cool and adult! Also, Archie and Maxie die in it. Fuck that noise!

The Electric Tale of Pikachu was better anyways.

Anyone willing to give a brief description of the differences between the mangas? Talking about ones that follow the "original" story starting from Pallet town or whatever. I kind of want to get into one. I know there's one where it follows actual Ash from the anime, and some just follow a generic "Red". And also, Misty is ridiculously sexualized in one of them. Which is the best?

Lol, the one where Misty is ridiculously sexualized is one of those "wtf" ones. I liked the general storylines, and a lot of the sexualizing, to be fair, is framed through Ash's viewpoint as a horny teen, but I remember when I first saw the uncensored Japanese version where Misty's sisters have the giant balloon tits and I had a good laugh.

I'm also partial to that manga because Jesse and James get married and are expecting a baby in it.

I'd talk about them more if I could actually find them online. Most places only have Special and that's all.
