I'm guessing any one of those kids is more talented on their off days than you are at your best. But if you're talking about Chopped, specifically, then I mostly just appreciate not having to sit through the tweaked for maximum effect, Olympics-style sob stories that each of the adult contestants seem to feel is necessary to drum up sympathy with the judges. Yeah, some of them are very genuine and touching, but there's always that one person who has to follow up with, "well I made croutons because my... grandmother used to... really like croutons before she died." *sniffle*
