There is something to be said about sheer adrenaline during fighting making people feel significantly less pain and continue to function even after serious injuries. But yeah, agreed in general.

Well, yes, that's true, but I'm talking about someone who gets shot and loses a significant amount of blood, or is savagely beaten, and only has to rest up for two hours before they're back. I'd buy it more if the character were deliberately trying to hide the severity of the injury, but it never seems to be that.
