DON'T get a tattoo to "get out of your comfort zone." Do it because you want one and are comfortable with it.

THIS. A tattoo is something that's going to be on your body for the rest of your life (unless you opt to have it removed, and that's expensive AND painful). You want to be absolutely, positively 100% sure that it's something you want and are going to continue to want years and decades down the line.

Just a note: Unless you become actively offended by your tattoo, don't get it removed. In addition to being expensive and painful, there's also a decent chance of scarring and/or discoloration that probably won't be less annoying than the original tattoo.

Be careful about getting anything too linked to a celebrity. If the last few years have taught us anything it is that while a Rolf Harris or Bill Cosby tattoo was a fun nod to your childhood if you got it in the 1990s, it is a bloody liability today. Even the ex skin heads with swastika tats on their arms get more leeway than someone who got a Rolf tat.

And never get anything on your hands or face unless you are self employed and confident that your self employment will be sustainable for the rest of your life.

Agreed, but it sounds like for OP the tattoo itself wouldn't be out of their comfort zone, just the actual process of getting tattooed (bc pain).

Op here. Yeah, it's the process itself I'm worried about. The thought of pain is the only thing holding me back.
