I liked Prometheus but don't really think of it as an Alien movie, more like a tribute work.

Aliens always pissed me off because James Cameron sailed past natural ending after natural ending and it just dragged on forever. It was really shitty storytelling and some people just ate it up. The movie's only redeeming bits are Newt's "mostly" line and of course Bill Paxton's iconic game over. Vasquez was cool, too. I can almost forgive James Cameron's existence just because we wouldn't have Vasquez otherwise.

Well, Aliens is my favorite in the franchise but at least you didn't say that Alien vs Predator or Alien: Resurrection were the only decent ones.

I'm looking forward to Covenant as well! I didn't care so much for Prometheus (tbh I barely remember it) but I'm remaining hopeful. :3

Aside from Prometheus I like them all in their own ways so while I want to see what Covenant does I also really, really don't trust that it's going to be decent. But idk, so long as the aliens are still scary in some manner I might be able to roll with it.

We'll see.

I mean, I guess that, yes, you can have that opinion. Alien is a good movie, but Aliens is my favorite. But I'm a little confused, if you didn't like Prometheus and this is a sequel to that, why do you think you're going to like this one? Unless you really liked Fassbender in Prometheus and not much else.

I think the hope is that Covenant will improve on Prometheus' mistakes. Something that by the looks of the trailer is unfortunately unfounded.

Alien was awesome - loved it, saw it in the theater, was scared to death.
Aliens was fun - really just a shoot-'em-up, but with some great backstory and the whole space Marines thing, and a budding romance, yay! for Ripley.
Alien3 was...weird. Noir. Okay, but not the best.
We don't speak of Alien 4.

Prometheus sucked balls, holy fuck, and i hold out no hope for this new one.
