1) Nasal upper Midwest. Eurgh.

2) Really strong Canadian accents. (I will never forget being a young lass at the dawn of the internet and stumbling upon some porn with some filthy-talking dudes who were saying the most amazingly erotic things but in these horrible backwoods Canadian accents, and feeling like my brain was going to seize up and die from the effort of negotiating arousal and second-hand embarrassment.)

3) I'm from the Philadelphia suburbs and I have no problem denouncing all the accents around Philadelphia and Baltimore as truly horrific.

Which Canadian accent? There's more than just one; there are various east coast accents, French accents (Quebec and Acadian, which are different), central Canada, western Canada, west coast of Canada?

And what, pray tell, do you consider a "backwoods" Canadian accent?
