Tbh all my favourites are ones I think need nothing but nice things, but the ones I especially think deserve hugs: Magnus Bane, Jace, Eleven, Steve Rogers(actually so many MCU characters just need like 50 years holiday and happiness), and Derek Hale.

Edgeworth could use more hugs.

Gumshoe could use more nice things, he's earned it.

Grantaire from Les Mis (Also Eponine, Valjean, Fantine... most characters from Les Mis. Les Mis is sad.)

Spencer Reid, Emily Prentiss, Aaron Hotchner, and Derek Morgan in particular immediately come to mind.

Honestly, though, that can apply to everyone on "Criminal Minds". All those poor team members have been through so much hell at some point in their lives, and need a serious break and all the nice things.

HOUSE!!!

I tend to gravitate towards fictional faves that need all the hugs, haha. I think that probably Cloud would be the saddest of the lot, though. His life is impressively shitty.

Pretty much all the Sherlock mainstays.

Elrond. Maedhros. Maglor. Celebrimbor. Galadriel. Sam. Frodo. Boromir. Honstly something like 90% of Tolkie's characters need hugs.

Obi-Wan, Luke, Leia (her planet is destroyed and she has to comfort someone who lost someone he's known for like a week), Rey, Finn, Jinn, Galen, Darth Vader (I stand by this, come on, he hates no one more than he hates himself, that's a horrible way to live).

Rupert Giles, Willow, Buffy, Dawn, Tara

Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Bobby, Castiel, Ellen and Jo Harvelle

The Doctor, Donna Noble, Amy Pond, Martha Jones, Jack Harkness (his sort of immortality really sucks)

I know the More Than Meets The Eye and Lost Light fandom are probably going to crucify me for this but damn if Pharma doesn't need it. We only see little snippets of his life but we KNOW his life went to hell in a handbasket and that probably did NOT do good things for his sanity.

I guess he's based on a real person but Cotton Top from Hatfields & McCoys just needed to be hugged tightly and never let go.

In S1 of Hannibal, Will Graham needed all the hugs.

For one the girl in my icon. This poor child was raised by a creator who saw her as at worst a mistake and at best a useful means to an end. Yet she thought the world of him until he showed his true colors and told her she only existed to serve him. After she turns against him to help the guy who she was cloned from she spends what appears to be months slowly weakening and trying to stay alive but not wanting to trouble the guy who can help her and knows her situation..

Then she gets tricked by an person working for her former father, captured, and unknowingly used to capture him. Captured again by her asshole father/creator. Told that a fucking HOLOGRAM of a woman the guy was obsessed with was more important to work on than solving her life threatening condition and that he intended to melt the poor girl down and study her remains because of course she's no more than a failed science project to this douchebag.

She nearly gets killed by him temporarily melted down before Danny's cure kicks in and she comes back cured and kicks her former creator's ass then takes off again to see the world

I am incredibly protective of her and she needs all the hugs and a nice family. Or a nice girlfriend to show her love.

Charlie Brown, Eeyore, Bambi, Jerri Blank.

Noctis Lucis Caelum. Goddamn. Pretty sure the in-game models had collision issues or something, because nothing else explains the utter lack of incredibly needed hugs that boy should have received.

Kanae Ohtori. She's not the only one in that series who needs nice things and hugs, but she's nowhere to be seen in the epilogue showing everyone's personal growth...

Every character in Overwatch (the game, not organization in the game). Pretty much everyone has had some awful thing happen to them at some point in their lives and suffers from it now (some handle it better than others) but just some examples:

-Was in an accident involving an experimental plane, disappeared from reality for months, and now only "exists" because of a tether device to keep them from disappearing again
-Grew up in a space station and was later forced to flee to Earth after their only friend and caretaker was killed in an uprising
-Grew up in a radiated wasteland that likely caused health issues and possible insanity
-Caused the aforementioned wasteland in an attempt to freedom fight
-Was taken away from family at a young age and made to do a shady company's work
-Dreamed of working for an organization, only for it to be shut down just before they could have joined; parent was thought to be killed in action for a long time
-Was forced to retire from a career they loved because "too old"
-Is in (implied) constant pain, cannot die, and before all of this, was ignored and taken for granted by everyone to the point jealously took over
-WAS BRAINWASHED INTO KILLING THEIR SPOUSE AND NOW WORKS AS AN ASSASSIN
-Etc.
