As someone who is ACTUALLY disabled this is incredibly insulting. I think it's time Wako was sent on his way, because this is too far, even for him.

Yes, it is that bad, and to be quite frank you should've been banned a long time ago, but this is just too much. Even Herpy isn't this stupid and insensitive.

IA there's kind of a huuuge difference between speaking for disabled people and speaking as a disabled person.

also "well you don't speak for disabled people" is often used when disabled people speak their opinion on things and it's really awful because it dismisses and brushes off disabled people speaking up.

Well, neither does ayrt claim to speak for all survivors. See what Im getting at? She would need to speak for all survivors, and If I should be banned because it makes dethtoll uncomfortable as a disabled person, dethtoll can be banned because he made anon up there uncomfortable as a survivor.

For the record I don't think either of us should be banned, but the while thing of "I have X credential, therefore SILENCE" is a nuclear warhead on a discussion based community like this.

I request the deletion of the "sexiest disablities in fiction" thread. I have explained why in thread, that it makes me uncomfortable and I find it dehumanizing because these attitudes always, in my experience carry over to offline life. I know I'm also not the only one who who finds it dehumanizing, either.

Just to clarify what you're asking for: the entire thread, or the first post about "sexy disabilities" and relevant argument threads to that?

I ask because I'm not sure whether people are also objecting to comments like "I'm enjoying blind Soldier 76 headcanons in the Overwatch fandom. Mostly because you get great scenes in fics where he loses his visor in battle." (Nobody is replying to those so I'm not sure if that's included, but it seems innocuous enough.)

Either way, in the future, discussion of disabilities and stuff are definitely going under the "content warnings required for threads" category.

Your last sentence really drives home that you're not just not getting the actual objections to tonight's fiasco. Do you plan to be this lenient when Wako posts multiple "Sexiest ethnicity" threads so he can talk about his Asian girl fetish and how hard he wanks to his favorite ping pong ball scenarios?

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're getting at - are you making that example specifically because I'm Asian?

Maybe I don't get it, I'll freely admit. I don't see where in the thread things were said that could be analogous to your example. The thread is vulgar in places, but "(real life) disabled girl fetish" or "how hard someone would fap to a real life person" isn't anywhere in that, nor in any of the responses. It's pretty clear people are talking about disability tropes in fiction or characters in scenarios.

I'd like to hear more about your specific objections if possible. Is your stance that having a kink for disability tropes in fiction is offensive and/or wrong, and should not be discussed on FS at all? Or is your stance that the discussion is disrespectful and offensive in tone by referring to those tropes as "sexiest disabilities"? Or something else?

As long as it is "Fictional" characters, how can you differentiate between that or people who love noncon fic or people who get really enjoy people getting beat up?

It's the objectification and dehumanization I and others like me have and do experience. Because this does carry over to real life--they never just have fictional characters who fulfill their kink. And, well, a disability fetish is just... Plain dehumanizing. Because when we voice our discomfort, we're shot down with, "WELL WHAT ABOUT NONCON SCENARIOS" when, no, it's not exactly the same. You don't see people going, "I find rape victims sexy." They find the power play sexy. It's not the same with disability, in my experience. It's more that some inherent part of me is made into fap material--like a guy getting off to lesbian porn and talking about how hot he finds lesbians and making a thread all about "sexiest lesbians in fiction" to talk about his lesbian kink.

I see a clear distinction between the "sexy disabilities" post and the responses which are about disabled characters, but I'm not sure if you're suggesting banning one or both.
