Seconded. There was one fandom in particular that I am pretty certain I lost a friend over because she didn't ship what I shipped. She threw out a snide comment about how her ship was better in a general post in our fandom space, and it appeared a couple days after I had made a general comment about how sure I was that my ship was going to be canon. I tried initiating come conversation with her after I saw her comment, but she never engaged. It hurt, but I eventually figured that if that was how she was, I was probably better off not speaking to her anymore.
