Still doesn't address the massive troves of H/C where it does come from abuse, so there's no argument to be made there.

Are you seriously arguing that some H/C is not from abuse, so H/C doesn't have a rampant problem with glorifying and sexualizing abuse and rape? That's like saying the yaoi I like is fluffy and doesn't contain rape so I can ignore the rape = love problem when I talk about whether yaoi overall is perfectly fine to wank to.

People wank to problematic things all the time regardless. Case in point, glorifying or aggrandizing the grittiness and violence of war for emotional gratification and catharsis is one of them. So much of that shit is gratuitous but you wouldn't say an entire fandom community must stop talking about war-related darkfic because a veteran was triggered. It's terrible that they were but like, do you not see that this would be a disproportionate response?

You think wako was an asshole here and believe me so do I, there are ways to approach sexy disabled characters or disability tropes in much less provoking and offensive ways, but declaring that all talk about finding mute headcanons hot or blind characters sexy is dehumanizing real disabled people and should be banned, or that people who like those in this thread are vile, is way overreacting imo.

I really think we are kind of talking past each other. I see your point about some H/C and abuse, but the assertion that "H/C fetishizes abuse" is weird to me because it is just not inherent in it. (and I haven't seen that claim before but I guess I've not been in the right places.) I've never been into yaoi as a genre, so I haven't really been present for those conversations, but I would also argue that rape=love is not an inherent problem with yaoi if it isn't a universal trope for the whole genre.

And I never said that talk about fetishes like this should be banned? I think it should be put in a properly labeled thread and people shouldn't be disrespectful of disabled people who object to talking about it in a really rude and dehumanizing way though

Rape = love is an inherent problem with yaoi in the same way that ravishment = love is an inherent problem with romance novels. It's not crucial to the genre but it's prevalent enough for it to not matter.

We sound like we are on the same page regarding the disability topic, but if you notice, nobody else is saying what you are saying. They are not saying threads should be properly labeled. They are calling for wako to be banned for posting the topic, that anybody discussing this topic or with this kink dehumanizes disabled people, and that everyone in this thread is vile. That is why the people saying that talk of this should not be banned are arguing back so hard.

Might I add, your friend didn't help the matter by saying everyone with the kink in fiction is dehumanizing real people.

I hope you don't agree with him on that one.

I'm not disabled and I'm not going to make that call tbh.
