35: Is this Twilight? Because if so EL-OH-FUCKING-EL.

Vivian Vande Velde did this story 10 years ago, and she did it better. Not to mention the fact that the main character's name is obviously ripped off of the Pirates of the Carribbean series. Stephanie Meyer fails all around at originality.

51: Tieria is a social retard who uses the Japanese word for "boyfriend" to refer to Lockon because he thinks he's a decent human being? Okay, sure, I'll bite. Maybe Tieria doesn't think proper and appropriate forms of address are becoming of a Gundam Meister.

They obviously don't sleep together, but Tieria is only just beginning to have emotions, and I don't think he's capable of making a distinction between platonic love and romantic love, and never got the chance before it was too late. However, he was speaking about Lockon as though he loved him. Romantically. Lockon himself is another story, but Tieria's love is cannon.

[Not a shipper (of that pairing), but not blind to the obvious intent in the script.]

59: Oh, God. Radio/Lampy. I was shipping it before I knew what shipping was. I also shipped Kirby/Toaster. (And I have always thought Toaster was male, but my sister now informs me this is not the case.)

60: I have to say, this secret made me LOL and LOL.

64: You go to a board, and you look at the images. You save the ones you like, and you talk if you want to, usually when sharing images of your own that follow the topic of the thread. And you stay the fuck out of /b/ until you've lurked moar.

59. Well Toaster is voiced by a woman, but the character is male. He's a male in the book, and I'm fairly positive the other appliances refer to Toaster as "him" in the movie. Personally I like Toaster and Blanky's relationship the most, but I don't ship them or anything. I'm curious what exactly BLT porn would look like. :/

Well, I mean shipping in the platonic/non-sexual way, because... appliances... and blankets... o.0 I'm glad I was right about him being a boy. I will now lord this over my sister's head.

I agree! That is my biggest complaint about Stephenie Meyer - she's not very original. Isabella Swann sounds just like Elizabeth Swan. I have no idea why she couldn't have at least picked a different last name.

Who is this Vivian Vande Velde that you mention? She sounds far more interesting than Stephenie Meyer. Do you have any personal recommendations for books of hers that I should read?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the name similarity! Sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy when I talk to Twilighters about it!

The book about the teenaged girl who meets the soulful vampire being hunted by evil vampires because of his sensitive ways is called Companions of the Night. This was the book of my group of friends when I was in junior high. We had one copy that we all passed around like it was the holy grail.

I loved Never Trust a Dead Man. User Unfriendly and Heir Apparent were also quite good. [Keep in mind these were all read more than ten years ago, so I don't know how well the hold up the test of time. I should reread them. -_-;]

Vivian Vande Velde - *hearts* Companions of the Night was what got me so interested in vampire literature in the first place. Every time I hear a twilight fan gush about the book's originality, I just want to force them into a prison cell and make them read Companions of the Night.

I bought that book at a book fair when I was in elementary school, and we passed that book around until it became a slightly unglued treasure. I gave it to my best friend when she moved away, and finally bought another copy last year.

It is definitely what started my love of vampire literature. I shake my copy at Twilighters, and have successfully converted one by sharing superior literature with her.

[I'm glad someone else has read that book!]
