I loved her outsmarting Loki in Avengers. Her opening Avengers scene was great (as was her recruitment of Bruce). I actually liked her romance with Bruce (especially the conversation they have together about not being able to have children). Her relationship with Hawkeye is great as well.

these were my thoughts, too, and saying that as someone who is pretty consistently underwhelmed with MCU. I didn't like all of her moments (like her randomly getting captured in which ever movie for no reason was dumb and pointless) but whether it was the director or the acting, she managed to be witty and strong while still being fairly "real" feeling, and not feeling like a tryhard "Strong Female Character (TM)". She had a pretty good dynamic with Hawkeye and I liked her opening Avengers scene a lot.

I hated her outsmarting Loki in Avengers, because his plan was so fucking obvious that every other Avenger had to be a complete mouthbreathing fucking idiot to miss it.

I chalked that up to the scepter messing with everyone's minds, and Loki not focusing as much of his attention on her because he didn't see her as any sort of threat.

Also, Steve did mention that he thought capturing Loki was too easy, and that something was off. And Nick Fury also suspected something was up when he said that he thought Loki was the only one who wanted to be on the helicarrier.

THIS.

So many people seem to have selective amnesia that caters to their hate on for Joss Whedon.

DA I think selective amnesia is a good way of describing it, I see so many posts where people forget that they loved the first Avengers film and they'll bash Joss all day long but whenever a Buffy post comes around there are hundreds of comments with people talking about what they loved.

I am fine with critiquing his work but the hatred gets so OTT at times.
