A day late, but man fandom is divided on this. haha

I'm also Team Black Paladin Allura all the way. I definitely don't want Keith in that role, and I also really do not see him in that role realistically with the way his character's been written so far, and I didn't even realize until today that people had considered Lance for the role. lol no.

There are many reasons I would prefer for it to be Allura. And I think if they want Keith to be the Black Lion, they didn't set that up super well (just having Shiro say "be the leader" isn't much of a setup imo, it has to actually be done in a way that will work for the team). Also, if Keith pilots Black, someone else has to pilot Red, and who will do that? Allura? That makes even less sense.

I do genuinely like Keith, though I liked him much more in S2 (and going back to S1, seeing things that I had never thought about with him before, I still like him).
