I'm not OP, but I think the gist of it was that they had no idea the artist headcanons Keith as trans in like everything they draw of him, so they had a "cis expectation" and when they found the NSFW stuff the illusion was shattered and it made them "weirded out" for a bit. It's pretty common IRL for people who have met me and then later on find out I'm not a cis man but a trans one to have a weird re-adjustment period because they're just so used to automatically assuming I'm a cis man. The good people ultimately don't care, but for lots of cis people it's still a "I've never knowingly met a trans person before" deal and it gives them some stuff to think about.

I think it might be this, but on a micro scale here.
