Haaate them. Hate them. In all cases. Unless it's an actual nickname from canon, I don't want it.

Worst one: "Lenny" for Dr. McCoy in Star Trek. /shudders

I generally don't like them either unless it's Canon.

In Harry Potter, anyone who calls Hermione their "Gryffindor lioness" makes me unreasonably angry. Like, back click and take three minutes before I continue angry. Any reference to her being a cat of any kind. My eyes cannot roll any further.
