Again: Holy shit.

(Nah, really I just kept repeating myself because I couldn't get over the sense of entitlement that seems to drip off of your comment, so I ended up repeating myself a lot.

Why does this happen every time an artist is linked on FS? The assblasting is endless and somehow everyone who deigns to comment hates the work but the artist is super popular and it's obviously for a reason, which just grinds people's gears here.

Just like I think Steven Universe and Gravity Falls look like all the worst things about Western cartoons today packed into two shows but they're really popular stylistically for a reason, the same applies here. Not everybody is going to like the same art styles, but not liking it isn't a valid criticism to say their work is crap.)

sorry to butt in.

normally i'd be a troll right now because even if it's not about this specific artist, which i'm willing to believe, you do sound pretty emotional, but for once i think i'm inclined to agree.

sooo many people calling this art an 'abortion' and 'it makes me want to kill myself' and stuff. lol. between you and those people i guess their dramatic overreactions pissed me off more than i felt like having a bit of a poke at you for being overly emotional about this. (i probably wouldn't have anyway, but it would have been on my mind to do it.) it looks nothing like the usual *~*tumblr art*~* i see this kind of reaction to. it's not sailor moon re-imagined as haes activists, that's for sure.

i don't care enough about this argument to go searching for what their artwork that follows the canon appearances, but i agree it's pretty disingenuous to link something that's not canon (??? i don't know much about voltron beyond what i see on f!s sorry) and present it like it's supposed to be that vs the canon pictures. i'm sure people would complain either way, but for me it was a huge leap between a two armed guy with a buzz cut and totally black hair to the canon photo, and not just because the fanartist's style isn't remotely anime influenced where the canon style obviously is.

real talk though, a lot of f!s has a weird hard-on for hating artists, even if (especially if?) the artist has done nothing wrong but the crime of drawing in a style they don't like. don't let it get you down. i don't know if you do art yourself or something and that's why you're upset, but people on here love to pitch a fit about fanartists, especially if they're popular. (we had drama the other week when people were talking about some patreon artist.) people seem to turn into professional art critics on here semi-regularly.

Jesus christ, are you that "artist" or one of their friends? Why are you so butthurt to the point of writing this massive tl;dr? Art is fugly and looks like shit, it's only logical that people dislike it.

Oh my god, anon. Of the two (or three) commenters in this thread, you're the one whose coming off like a crazy person.

(Also, lol at you saying ~animu boys~ like it's an insult. What are you even doing in VLD fandom if you hate the canon art style?)
