I mean, yes, lots of things did go hilariously wrong. Bad case of the flu, messed up hotel booking, bad weather making transport impossible, found out my shoes weren't waterproof while walking through snow.

I was having so much fun I didn't mind so much. You're not lost if you're around people who speak your language or you have a map or working phone. You're just temporarily off course. Exploring. Seeing things you wouldn't have seen if you went the direction you originally planned. No need for panic.

I love wandering around by myself in a new city. I feel like I get to see so much more than I would if I had other people with me or a really scheduled day. I miss doing that.
