Yeah the Mink thing bothered me the most out of the entire game. I thought the plot of the general game was cool, but Mink just threw me. It's one thing if it were portrayed as rape...it initially is, but then it just jumped the shark and then beat said shark to a bloody paste by abandoning reality completely and having Aoba forgive Mink and be all into him/obsessed with him and Mink turns into a woobie. (Giving Mink a stereotypical angsty backstory that for some reason totally....justifies him raping you!? Wtf game???)

I really hated Mink because my first time playing the game (without knowing much about it), I somehow managed to get his story, and I failed the ending. So this allegedly "super interesting and sexy Japanese visual novel" was basically me getting beaten up and raped a lot, and it climaxed (if you will) with me getting decapitated. So, so sexy.

Did Mink turn into a woobie though? I ended up playing all the endings, and re:connect too, and what I remember is that Mink fails at suiciding at the end so disappears, and eventually Aoba decides he's in love with him, so he runs off to America because he's pretty sure the scene he saw from Mink's memory must be there (anime logic). Then after he wanders around for ages and finally finds Mink, Mink's like "fuck you, go home." And Aoba just won't leave, and hangs around his house for literally months, so eventually Mink is like "whatever" and they fuck. Like, he literally never even properly apologizes for hurting/raping Aoba. He's just all, "yeah, sucks but I had to do it, so no regrets lol". Like, I played the extended ending waiting for him to at least tearfully beg Aoba to forgive him, but that didn't even happen. It was nuts. But it didn't feel like Mink's character was what was inconsistent, it was more Aoba's behavior that was baffling.
