OMG where did you find your copy? I've seen the unabridged version in a few shoddy cameraphone pictures, but they were all battered beyond recognition. I envy your mint edition.

My icon's from a movie called Rock-a-Doodle. Early 90's movie that didn't hit it off so well, but it's nostalgic for me.

Google or Wikipedia. ^^ That's what I did after reading the books. Guilder never existed--it's a type of coin in a European country. All the legal troubles he's had with the book, etc? Never happened. Goldman doesn't even have a son--he has two daughters, but no son. His wife isn't a therapist, either.

Don't worry, he fooled me, too.

I'm not sure if they still do it, but back when PB first came out, Goldman's publishers would reply to letters about Buttercup's Baby talking officially about the lawsuits.

When I found that out I felt so much fan love.

They still do! They even do it through e-mail now to save the trees. I forget where I found the address for it, but I did it once and the resulting letter was hilarious. It really does sound really official, too.

You can go to the publisher's website to get the missing "reunion scene" through e-mail, too....which...gives you another letter talking about the legal difficulties with Morganstern's estate.

It's really awesome that everyone's been keeping up the story so well. If it wasn't for the internet, I'd be trying to plan a vacation to Guilder to see that darned Six-Fingered Sword in the museum.
