The head of the department I study under once sent everyone a very excited email because the book he'd written had been used as a prominent prop in a procedural. I thought it was cute.

Must be. It's the only show I can think of which would fit in the centre of the Venn diagram of 'likely to have a researcher's book as a prop', 'has a recent baby addition', and 'is likely to have someone dodging admitting to watching it'.

also, described as "Very Famous", which narrows things considerably

Everyone is guessing Big Bang but the secret indicates that the research involves babies. I know there's a baby plot but that also doesn't narrow it down since a lot of shows do.

Laugh and move on. My dad's books are in the office scene of pretty much every TV lawyer. He points it out, laughs, and ignores all the nonsense portrayed to enjoy the story.
