But those arguments are both tied pretty specifically to the particularities of the characters in questions (Spider-Man has to do with a preference for a specific version of the comic book character and Iron Fist is in the strange and distinctive position of being essentially a character from a kung fu movie). It seems weird to me to take that and make it into a general claim about what SJWs want.

No, they were upset when Glover wasn't cast as Spidey for ASM. This was pre-Miles.

I get what your shooting at, but this wasn't pre-miles. They wanted ASM to be about Miles. Maybe that illustrates your point - But given how garfield played it, it's not a strong point - that the felt they were owed a film about Miles rather than Peter, but your aim i well on of this one.

Seriously, there are so many legitimate things to hit them on, go for one of the easy targets. Like Kate bishop being called "The REAL hawk-eye" in the recent America. Or Amadeus Cho and Sam Wilson both losing their own identities - I fucking loved Amadeus. He didn't need to be the hulk. Still super bitter about that - to step into white-guy shoes. I mean like it's a promotion or something. "Hey, Sam, great work as Falcon, now it's time we put you in a real super hero role. And your fans wont take it as the fucking insult it is because we're pushing Steve - Old Whitey - The OLDEST whitey! - out so they'll not see this as a loss, they'll see it as a win!"

Spider-Man is an invalid argument when they picked and chose elements from the Miles Morales version to give to the latest version of Peter Parker.

And casting a beautiful redhead as GWEN. Ugh. FUCKING TWICE NOW THEY'VE DONE THAT! No, I'm ok with them doing peter, but I'm super butt-hurt that they cast "Twilight Light" guy as spidey.

Hey, say what you want about SJW in comics, and there's a fucking lot to say, but Miles was pretty damn good. I just wish ultimate Spider man hadn't killed Peter. I was far too depressed after that to really have much passion to keep up with the series, meaning I missed out on a lot of Miles.
