I think Barbara could easily be a WOC but at the same time I'm not going to be shocked or offended if she ends up white in the new movie.

Let's be real, though, when the people who complain the loudest demand "POC" or "WOC" to be cast, what they really mean is "black" - they are very quick to throw non-black POC under the bus for that.

yea it's always that, sometimes latinos. never asian americans or native americans, for some reason

sometimes i feel like it's because black is the most visible and asians are just not supposed to be badasses outside of stereotypes

Some of the people asking for more POC castings may mean "black," but definitely not all. See the recent controversy over Iron Fist for a good example. The most common plea that I saw was for Danny Rand to be Asian American, often with the follow-up "or any race other than white."

Considering that a lot of non-black POC either piggyback or demand that black people stan for them without putting into the amount of effort that black people do, do you really think black people are going to be about solidarity, especially when there is so much anti-blackness in general?
