One birthday, my dad took me to this chocolate buffet. So many good things. I honestly couldn't pick just one. But that as a whole was the best food experience of my life. Everything was chocolate.

I had the best chocolate ice cream when I went to Mexico a couple of years ago. It was served in a cocoa pod and it was super rich and creamy. I remember begging my grandpa to buy a bucket to take home, but he said it wasn't sold in buckets and even if it was, it would melt before we got back to the village. The same restaurant had sweet corn ice cream served in a cob and it was also great, but not as great as the chocolate ice cream.

Either:

The first pad thai I ever had

Or

These fallen chocolate cakes they served in my college dining hall as part of a thing where they would team up with local restaurants. The cake was called the Chocolate Explosion and I have never had a molten/fallen chocolate cake since that could compare.

I have several!

The burger from The Girl and the Fig restaurant in Sonoma, California. Best cheeseburger I've ever eaten in my life. A bold statement, but I stand behind it 110%. If you're ever in Sonoma, GET THE BURGER.

Spam fried rice at Kalapaki Beach But, Kauai, Hawaii. Fried rice made with with Spam and one or two fried eggs on top. You break the yolks and it runs down into the hot rice, godDAMN that's good shit. And you're eating it on the beach in fucking Hawaii, man! Me and my buds would wake up about 9:30-10-ish, go down to the Beach Hut, grab this and a few beers for breakfast then spend the rest of the day surfing. Living the dream, if only for a week or two.

My homemade macaroni and cheese. I make it every year at Christmas. I use Gruyere and Wisconsin aged white cheddar cheese. It's the bomb.

There's this half bookstore/half restaurant in DuPont Circle, Washington DC and one time for dessert I got their flourless chocolate cake and it was the most delicious thing I'd ever put in my mouth. I still dream about that thing.

On the savory side: possibly the grilled salmon at a place called Rae's Coastal Cafe in Augusta, GA. Glazed in orange rum sauce. Amazing.
