I guess Lord of the Rings, since it lead to some friendships good and bad. Opened up the world of fandom sites for me etc etc.

John Marsden's Tomorrow When the War Began - kind of really built up my enjoyment of camping and exploring.

Is that Australian movie based off that? The one where they did a part one and then I got super upset because it just ended and they never did the part two?

Yup! They never did make the rest of the movies but there's a TV show now! I haven't watched it yet, I'm scared it's bad. But I've heard it's reasonably good and accurate.
