My oldest Abandoned WIP was first posted in 2001 and last updated in 2003. It was a Star Wars story that went AU from the Black Fleet Crisis books. Leia and Luke are fighting because Luke wants to find their mother and Leia wants to put their birth-pasts behind them and certainly not think of Darth Vader as her father.

So, spurred by a vision, Luke heads back to Tattooine, where it turns out his mother had been in hiding all along and had only recently died in the last few years, leaving behind a second husband and some kids ranging from teenager to adult. Luke bonds with most of them, except the one who can't stand him, and there's a civil war going on that Luke gets caught up in and then Leia and Han start to worry about him because nobody's heard from him since their fight, so they show up and join the war and eventually the good guys win, Luke and Leia make up, the half-sib who hates them comes around and they're all a big happy family.

I got about as far as Luke crashing on Tattooine because half the planet (guess which half) is under the effects of a technology dampener that kills his X-Wing. I sort of remember the details for how it was all going to go down, but there's one scene in my head still that I can't figure out what I meant to do with it.
