Flawed masterpieces you love because they're flawed.

Doom the movie. I love that trash heap of a movie so much. It helps that I have never played the game so have nothing to compare it to.

I kinda like the rock, so that helped make the film fun for me

It's not a masterpiece and by any sane standard it's flat-out terrible but I'll always love Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2.

I remember that! It was awesome how powerful you felt in that game.

My first thought was The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The movie. It's such a terrible movie but it's so much fun and Captain Nemo and Jekyll/Hyde are awesome.

In a somewhat similar vein, does anyone remember a shitty oughties vampire movie called The Breed? Starred Highlander's Adrian Paul, plus Bokeem Woodbine and Bai Ling, set in a dystopian universe where vampires lived in ghettos? It's sort of a weird alternate history vampire noir thing, and I love it a lot.

Babylon 5 is perfect in terms of story (other than a rushed season 4 and dragged out season 5). But it is a show of its time and low budget in terms of effects. But that's a big part of the charm of it for me.

Star Trek: The Original Series is the same for me.

Final Fantasy XV. The story's a smashed-together weeping pile of nonsense even at the best of times, but goddamn if I didn't fall in love with every single one of those boys. And some of the girls too!

I haven't written this much fic in years. I'm not even posting it anywhere ('cause a lot of them involve complex AUs, tbh), and I'm perfectly content with that; I'm loving just creating for it. I'm even trying to get better at drawing so I can do cute doodles of them. Something about the whole package just really nailed me right in the heart, even with all its faults.

Obligatory mention of the Super Mario Bros. live action movie.

It's a neat weird movie. I don't know if I cared that much until I read a "campaign comic" about it.

That level of examination brought it home for me.
