Princess Nightmare is a VN-style game, choose your own adventure style basically. Lots of reading. I'd say about a 30 hr investment (really guessing here) depending on if you want to do all the romantic paths. It's a mix of romance, demon-slaying action, and comedy. I really enjoyed the light-hearted tone of the game, remaining even when things were getting serious!

I recommend using a walkthrough immediately. The very first choice can lock you out of romances and I learned this the hard way getting a bad ending after spending days playing it blindly... :<

The female protag is very proactive from what I've seen through what I've played.
