Yeah, which is why I said it overlapped with my ideas of consciousness, and why sharing a consciousness with said clone would make it a stickier question for me.

But having a shared consciousness with someone experiencing a slightly different perspective of reality with you also makes them definitely not you.

Unless you mean they double up so that you can't tell which one is physically you any more. In which case they'd both be 'you' only with two bodies and there's no 'other'. I don't really see the sticky part.

I meant the latter, yes, and it's why I think I do believe in souls, because on an instinctive, knee-jerk level I don't think I'd feel like 'me with two bodies', I think I'd feel like me and someone else sharing two bodies even if I couldn't pin down who that 'other' was. Though, arguably, yes, that might just be disassociation, feeling like a body that was mine belonged to somebody else because I instinctively felt I shouldn't have two of them, but I'm not trying to prove that the other soul existed here, I'm just saying I think I would believe that it did. Which was the question. I think I do believe in souls.
