I meant it in the sense that rivalries aren't a defining trait for any character in YOI. Not even for Yurio, since his drive for winning is more important than wanting to win over Yuuri (or Victor or JJ).

For Rin, his rivalry with Haru is a defining trait and is pretty much his main plot point on S1.
