You have literally no idea if a computer can be "self-aware" and "experience emotions". No matter how complex a computer is, it's still just a computer. A computer acting according to to "emotional" programming isn't suddenly sentient.

you're really invested in pretending that humans function according to some higher logic but we are also programmed, sorry. emotions are not some mystical process and the brain is just an organ.

by the way, we already have self aware robots! testing that is actually very easy and kind of proves how much you're talking out of your ass.

We aren't "programmed" lol. What are you even talking about? You don't sound remotely familiar with psychology as a field, because emotions actually are extremely difficult to break down and quantify. And yes, the brain is an organ. An organic organ.

Self aware robots, okay? I really don't care what they are programmed to do, or problem solve. They still aren't people. This is basically the computer equivalent of anthropomorphizing something.

Humans are programmed - we have imperatives that we seek out from birth, our 'basic programming' if you will. These are what drive us to eat, to sound an alarm if we experience negative stimuli, to learn to walk and communicate. And then as we age and our brain builds itself according to the preset (and automatically executed) biological blueprint in our DNA, we gain more complex functions and begin generating our higher 'software'.

Then I guess we're not sentient by your logic right here. We're still programmed. That's actually kind of what DNA does! And then our memories and learning is basically just further programming! Congrats, by your own definitions and arguments right here, you've just said that no human is sentient.

Equating DNA with computer programming shows an absurdly minimal understanding of both biology and computer programming. You sound like an edgy teen who writes emo poetry.
