I've read thousands, but nothing has ever surpassed Dan Simmon's Hyperion.

(granted, books 2-4 weren't as good, but DAMN, how could they have been?)

I am almost painfully anxious about the upcoming adaptation. It could be awesome, but I fear they won't be able to give it the room it needs.)

DA

There's an adaptation? Not sure how I feel about that. Loved the first book (enjoyed 2-4 well enough, but they weren't on the same level), but the plot is going to be hard to get into one film, and I have a feeling they'll chicken out of certain aspects.
