OP here. I'm watching TFS's Nuzlocke run right now! Gosh I love them. They're the ones who inspired me to read the manga...and that fucker is still useless. He manipulates the matchups of the tournament and then blew himself up fighting Nappa and that was the extent of his contributions.

He has less screentime/bad shit that happens to him compared to Yamcha, which I'm guessing is why he doesn't get as much shit.

Also, Yamcha used to be wayyyyy cooler

DA, haven't read/watched the series in a while but I do recall Yamcha being awesome.

It seemed that as soon as Sayains entered the picture, everyone else slowly become filler until Goku could get there xD

OP again. Maybe it's because people are more familiar with Z than the first series. Yamcha DOES stuff in the first series. Meanwhile even in the whole franchise, Chaotzu does the bare minimum. Heck, Launch did more noteworthy stuff than he did! Mai and Soba did more than he ever did. And so on.
