10. No. Sometimes they're necessary, even if only as plot devices. And because, come on, it's downright stupidly unrealistic to have characters never interact with OCs, especially in long fics; there just aren't enough canon characters in anything for that.

(I can't say I really approve of them as more than background/props, though. No OC/canon character romances or next-gen fics for me, thank you very much.)

37. I like het pairings. I like gay pairings (mostly femslash, which you know, don't even GO there, because it's practically nonexistent in most fandoms). But yeah, I kinda see what you mean -- people who are rabidly yaoi-obsessed, who "don't do het," as one person said to me once, who seem to possess a loathing (or even fear) of vaginas, piss me the fuck off. CHRIST, AT LEAST GIVE IT A TRY.

(but, um, "scary" is a bit ridiculous, there. You do realize people here on f!s blow everything out of proportion, right?)

Not!Secret 1: Lackey is one of those who frowns on internet fanfic, sorry. There's like an "official" fanclub or something for her Valdemar stuff, but outside that's a no-no.

Honestly, though, they were fun for a light read, but didn't really seem, at least to me, to lend themselves much to fandom-ish stuff, anyway.

...and by 84 I mean 82, of course. -_-

The commentariat, as I have dubbed them in my head, has massive Steff and Amy hate. It's really only a few posters, but they talk a lot. It's OK, OP! No one has to choose and everyone doesn't hate the gals, even if they have Problems and Issues Galore. Just like, oh, every college freshman I've ever known or been. ;)

You know, I've noticed the massive Steff and Amy hate, and... I just don't get it. Nobody's perfect, especially not college freshmen -- heck, I'm a recently graduated college senior and I'm still not even close. I guess sometimes the readers forget that they ARE still freshmen (I know I do, occasionally), and that, heck, a lot of this stuff's new to them (especially Amy, whose coming to MU has been her first venture Out Into The World. I know she's well-read, but books can't make up for actual experience, you know?).

37. I'd call the female character bashing ones scary. All that deathfic makes me fear for the actress.
