NOT a big deal. It really shouldn't matter what you like to read. I'm a voracious reader and I happen to love "young adult" books right up there with the grown up stuff too. Those kinds of books can appeal to anyone; not limited to an age group! More proof? I get this from my mother who, yes, still reads that sort of thing (along with a bunch of grown-up-informative stuff too). Books are for everyone who choses to read them. That is why they are books.

And if you hadn't read it, The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Read is quite excellent, as are most of Tamora Pierce's series (I would rec The Magic Circle series and her The Defender of the Small books first and foremost). If you want something still in the sci-fi/fantasy realm complete with good read, but more "adult" (and very widely acceptable as such), you could try your hand at Terry Prachet.
