But, do people really care about Phasma anymore? They hyped her up, she didn't live up to the hype, shouldn't she just be over, anyway?

I honestly don't even remember what she did in the film except exist for a few minutes.

She had the Boba Fett effect (shiny armour with and interesting design but little screentime) plus the added bonus of being played by an actress who was popular for a different strong warrior woman role at that moment so that's why so many people latched on to her.

I do! I wanna know about her and I'm so looking forward to the book/comics coming out.

Plus, I WANT her to be more than she was. And honest to god FEMALE main villain in the films and not just tv shows.

I think most people are responding to the "it would annoy people" part.

I guess I read that as more lighthearted and less spiteful than most. A lot of things people suggest as jokes would annoy people if they really happened and sometimes that's part of the joke.

Though personally I ignored that part because it didn't add anything for me but wasn't the kind of terrible I have to condemn.

I think you're being a bit generous, because I've seen people whining that Phasma has fans because a bunch of women got interested because A. her armor is treated like a guy's armor and B. she's not really made to be a wet dream for guys, which is nice and catches interest.

See, I immediately read it as a 'screw you' to everyone who was happy we get a big armored in-charge lady in Star Wars, by hoping she's made a joke. I mean it's died down some, but there was a lot of Ghostbusters-esque diaperbaby tantrums when the movie first came out, because a female stormtrooper?! SJW cuck special snowflake feminazis are ruining Star Wars!!!
