I remember when I first started posting to AO3. On the one hand there was an easy method to reply to comments. On the otherhand there was a pretty heavy pressure not to inflate comnent counts with replies. So for about two years, I didn't reply to feedback. And then I thought 'hang it, I'm thankful they commented.'

Now I reply to all comments.

Smart people aren't sorting by comments anyway. All that gets you are the fics written by the people with the most groupies, and a bunch of high school AUs and whump the woobie fics. Sort by bookmarks. Your brain will thank you.

Hee, yeah. That's been pretty much my experience, too, and sorting by bookmarks works best for me, as well.
