Re: Villainous Characters You Sort Into Hogwarts Houses Other Than Slytherin

OT but interesting: Hufflepuff is notably the only house with anything concrete like "kindness" in its valued traits.

I don't think they'd refuse to change anything because they're personally comfortable, but because they're afraid of the turmoil that change might cause. They're the old guard that genuinely fear that the world might descend into chaos and demons might rise if balls keep touching. Married balls!

Yeah, that's more what I was driving at.

I actually always headcanon'd Cornelius Fudge as a Hufflepuff and I think that's basically a good example. Although you could argue Fudge wasn't an out-and-out villain.

The kindness part makes it hard to imagine an out and out villain, but I can see tons of Hufflepuffs being like Fudge. Unwilling to take risks and change and leading people into disaster out of fear or loyalty to the old ways. Antagonist might be a better word, antagonist is easy.

That is a good example. Fudge wasn't an out-and-out villain, but it'd be totally possible (and fun) to develop someone like him into one.
