(Anonymous) 2017-05-13 08:32 am (UTC)(link)Eh. I understand what you're getting at but at some point, relating a fictional thing to its real life definitions is necessary because real life situations and morals is what people measure fictional situations and morals against.

I mean that we, in the real world do not need to judge that stuff that happens in fiction the same way we would IRL. Like if someone, for example defends a murdered or a rapist in fiction that is separate from defending real life rape. Like saying "Regina is not a rapist" would be acceptable to me - Something I'd argue, sure but perfectly OK - its just not the same as saying "Roman Polanski is not a rapist". I kinda feel like people are judging the real world defence of fictional rapists with the same measure as you would a real wold situation? You know?
Like what I'm getting at is that there's a greater value difference between supporting slavery IRL, and selling fenris is DA 2 than just 'well fenris isn't part of o world but is still slaver' You know?
