...Incredibly stupid or troll?

Seriously, do you not respect anyone who believes in a religion? Do you have any idea how sad that makes you? You'll be missing out on a lot of good people if you continue to be that kind of dickhead. And yes, I am an atheist saying this. Have some goddamn respect for other people, you don't know everything and not everyone has the same life experience or view points as you.

But the OP is obviously so much more ~*~educated~*~ and ~*~logical~*~ and people with religion are bigots/idiots/brainwashed/h8ers/uncultured/naive/what-have-you! ;)

I'm actually wondering if anybody knows who the woman in #70 actually is, and if there's some kind of drama with her and her beliefs that would explain the secret beyond "the secret-poster is an asshole who hates religion".

It's Freema Agyeman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freema_Agyeman), who played Martha Jones on Dr Who.

Maybe there's special hate because Dr Who is sci-fi? But that doesn't make sense because he fought the devil in one episode, and basically turned into sparkly Jesus in another. They aren't subtle with the religious imagery.

..... WHOA THAT'S FREEMA?

omg wut.

XDDD I fail so hard. *is actually a Doctor Who fan* I didn't even recognize her. Wow.

Okay, yeah, still in the dark as to where the OP's hate comes from, in that case.

I thought it was her, but I didn't recognise her at all! Hard to recognise her without the red jacket (and her skin looks a little washed out. Didn't someone do a secret about that awhile back).

Actually, while Doctor Who's not subtle with the religious imagery, it's mostly because religious imagery is just easy to do. If I remember correctly, RTD's an aethist.

I can't think it would be because DW's sci-fi. Twilight Zone and Star Trek, two of the oldest sci-fi series out there, had very strong religous leanings.

It's convienient mythology. (I say "mythology" to denote shared stories/themes that are or were once believed in, not as an insult. I actually am Christian).

The X-Files was fairly rich in it... there's quite a few anime that use Judeo/Christian symbolism (Evangelion, and my fave, Trigun). ... I have no idea what Chris Carter is, the crew of Evangelion have been adamant that none of them are Christian, and I read that the mangaka of Trigun is a Catholic (but that was just on Wikipedia..).

For the western audience, Judeo-Christian religious symbolism is easy to pick up on, makes for easy to recognize themes and messages even if the creators don't subscribe the whole message. For audiences elsewhere, such as Japan - it either makes for pretty window dressing or a nice mind-screw, depending on how it's used.

In other words - it's fun.

Freema Agyeman, from Doctor Who. And no, I can't really think of any reason why her religion would be drama-causing. I mean, she's an actress in a sci-fi show, ie: NOT THE REAL CHARACTER; if the OP can't seperate his/her/its opinion of Freema's personal life from s/h/its enjoyment of the actress's day-job, I don't think Freema is the one having trouble seperating fiction from reality.

uaeosnuhtso I'm actually a Doctor Who and Martha fan so I'm like "WHAT" at myself that I didn't recognize her XD But... yeah. That clears up... nothing at all. I don't remember any kind of wank over Freema's beliefs, sooo... I guess I'll just have to go with the OP being a troll/asshat.

It's Freema Agyeman, and there isn't. There's no wank over David Tennant being a Presbyterian either.
