I just think it's extremely petty and childish to lose respect for someone just because they don't share the same belief or non-belief as you (a general 'you') do. =/
I mean, I'm a hardcore Catholic but I don't lose respect for my favorite actor, writer, artist or whatever if they happen to be an atheist or a Protestant (hell, Doug Jones is a friend of mine and a good actor and he's Episcopalian/Anglican. Then again, we consider them to be our cousins twice removed) Hey, it's their life and they can believe (or not believe) whatever they want to. But if they're an ass about it, then that's a different story.
Plus it's all the more reason why Martha Jones is my favorite Who companion too, but that's another story. >;]
(I suppose it wouldn't help to mention to the OP of that secret that Freema is also a vegetarian, if that sorta thing bothers them too.)

*snerk* So true! Also, Doug Jones is an amazing actor.
Heck, my favorite writer's Neil Gaiman, and Lord alone only knows what he is (or isn't).
