Re: What media did you give up on? Why?

Oh yeah I don't necessarily mind FOX having the rights to X-men especially when they created Deadpool and I could never see Marvel/Disney pulling out that film (haven't seen Logan yet, need to.)

But the more the MCU gets expanded the more it feels like they are missing a core part of some of their stories. It became even more of an issue for me when Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver came on the scene but they could no longer say mutant and there's no Magneto. It just makes things feel incomplete.

Also just on a personal level I've always been all about X-men and the level I cared about the Avengers was always related to if the X-men were there or not lol.

No, they want your suicide to be seen as unsavoury. If you kill yourself, you can't organise against them. If you break the law killing yourself, you're painted a criminal and a coward, rather than a martyr.

DA--if you want to keep "no" for flirting with, can there be some kind of universally understood symbol that means "I'm not interested right now, please leave me alone?" that's less extreme than a suit of armor with spikes that spray mace when someone says "hey baby!"? Because someone telling me I'm pretty or that they find me desirable can be nice sometimes, but someone ignoring a "no" or a "no thanks" just makes me feel like they don't give a shit what I want or for my consent or safety.

Young = Below 30.
Child = Below 13.
Teen = Between 13 and 19 - also, not "grown up".
Middle-aged = 30 to 59.
Old = 60 and over.

Notes: I am 39. I only started calling myself "middle-aged" at 35.

My mum considers "old" to be 5 years ahead of her current age, so at the moment "old" is 75.

I don't read books anymore, simply because I do most of my reading online.

I have mostly also given up on TV, only half-listening sometimes to what Mum is watching.

His last name sounds like one of the made up names for a couch or painted wall with trim panels in the Sims 3 game.

Heh. I keep meaning to make a "not vaccinated, still autistic" tshirt, except, well, I'm autistic and I would be hanging a "please verbally attack me, anti-vax crusaders" sign around my neck by doing so, which would lead to me having meltdowns because even normal social interaction is really uncomfortable for me, much less being yelled at by people who'd rather risk a dead kid than an autistic one. (And before anyone asks, I got vaccinated as an adult.)

People become understandably annoyed when you tell them that the multiple instances of thoroughly consensual sex they've had while mildly drunk were actually rape, or simply were Not Okay.

Ugh, yes. So many people seem incapable of comprehending that there is an enormous spectrum between "had a beer or two & are now slightly buzzed" and "are so wasted that you aren't going to remember this in the morning." The latter is not cool, but you can be the former and be entirely capable of giving informed consent.

Her case is dead by this stage, though. He's no longer her witness. She didn't sleep with him while the case was still possible (and while Blaine was still old!Blaine, whether or not new!Blaine is a fake). Honestly, I'm so annoyed at Ravi being a douche about the whole thing that I'm on Peyton's side even though Blaine is vile and I don't think she should go anywhere near him. (Liv and Major are wary about Blaine but not whiny assholes, so that's fine.)

It sounds like a pretty ordinary Italian name to me.

I like Dancy. Astaire, Skye, Hart, Bonneville, Villenueve, I also find quite nice.

I love Sandra Bullock, but I think that is an unfortunate last name.

My Mom was born in Texas in 1959. Dad was born in Texas in 1961.
Both moved around a lot because my grandfathers were in the military (not the same unit). Mom lived in Germany for three years as a kid.

Mom and Dad's parents retired from the military and stayed in the same town in North Carolina even though both sides had stronger family ties to other states, Mom's Dad to Oklahoma and the other to Virginia.

Mom and Dad went to the same high school. Thanks to the civilian school not properly transferring her school credits from a Canadian run school for US/Canadian military families stationed in Germany, Mom was forced to repeat third grade. The high school they went to was new- Mom was in their first graduating class.

Mom went to community college for nursing, found she was really only in it because Grandma wanted her to and she couldn't stand the gross stuff. Mom switched to graphic art. Mom was going to go to Orlando, Florida to work for Disney, but Grandma convinced her not to go. Dad went into the military after high school but was discharged for health reasons. Both worked odd jobs until they both ended up working at JCPenney. Dad was a stocker and Mom worked in Boys clothing.

They met when Dad brought up some merchandise to the sales floor. They dated and were engaged within six months. They were married in October of 1985 and I was born three months premature in April 1987.

I don't think you'll have to worry about TOO much "Good riddance!" in regards to Capaldi, honestly most people I've seen either love him but maybe dislike the writing for him or just have never seen him at all because they quit Who at a certain point in Moffat era.

You're going to mostly see "Good riddance Moffat!" since Capaldi's departure is going to be the same time as Moffat and Moffat is waaaaaaaayyyyyy more hated then Capaldi could ever hope to be. In the circles I run in Capaldi is pretty well loved.

And if it helps any, I will be mourning Capaldi a hell of a lot. I think it's a shame a lot of people dropped Who because he's such a fantastic Doctor.

I found B99 really raucous at first, but I gave it another try and I'm really glad I did.

OP

But operating a vehicle while impaired can increase the risk of harm to others, not just you - whereas deciding to have sex when impaired *especially if the other party is not* can cross into regions where the other party took advantage of that state.

Magneto is an good one cause he's only a small perspective flip away from being the greatest hero.

Haninibal Lecter is an interesting one cause there's no reason you should be routing for him, but I can't help it.

Sephiroth is a good one because of the feeling of overwhelming unbearable godhood he gives off.

First tug ever was to Tomb Raider 2

I've since pulled it to many many many videogames.

Various comics, my most recent pull was last night while reading Grant Morrisons Seven Soldiers, the Bulleteer Super Catfight. Yum.

Yea. I am still butthurt. Fuck Joe Queaeda

Re: Age

It really depends on the context. For instance, someone who dies in their forties would be "young", but a professional athlete in their forties would be "old".

Review/Analysis of DS9's "Past Tense, Part 2"

Today's episode is marginally better than yesterdays, but if you don't like preachy material, it's still probably going to grind your gears. It'll just be an annoying tic rather than something you need to go to a mechanic for.

(...I'm bad with mechanical metaphors.)

Look, I might actually get the underlying frustration with fanmixes that don't actually seem like they have anything to do with the fandom/ship/etc. they're supposed to be related to but the insufferable elitist music hipster is strong with this one. "Eclectic" ... seriously? This actually sound like instead of using popular songs, youre just picking out the nost obscure songs you can find that maybe vaguely fit just to feel all special and superior.
(Tbh, you sound like one of those people who drop a band as soon as it gets more popular.)

It kind of amazes me that some people can actually orgasm without thinking of something they find arousing. If I don't actively fantasize while I masturbate, I may as well be playing with my earlobes for all the pleasure I feel.

On the one hand I'm envious of people who get aroused and feel pleasure so easily. But on the other hand, the thing I love about masturbating is getting turned on by and getting of to what I'm fantasizing about. The physical pleasure on its own would be nice I guess, but I probably wouldn't really bother masturbating more than occasionally if that's all it was.
