06. In my personal opinion, you'd have to be pretty shallow to like that character. He's a dumbass. Don't fret over not liking him; you probably just learned to recognize dumbasses.
23. That is quite possibly the cutest secret I've ever read. That's not saying much, but still.
48. Yeah. Most of what you said hits home with me. I don't feel like I'm betraying anything by reading or writing the stuff though because on the rare occasion I write something even close to erotic, it has to do with developing a character. Anything else I read, I usually read for the lulz. I can't take sex seriously at all.
If you want to write a non-erotic relationship, do it. If you want more stuff to read, write it yourself. Sex certainly isn't taboo anymore, but it's not universal law. Writing it because you feel like you have to isn't going to help you write any better either.
SEX is a major aspect of 99% of humanity- and the internet and the media (namely fandom) are both a gigantic hormonal outlet for that drive. No asexual revolution is gonna overthrow that (hell, if it did we'd go extinct), but if there gets to be some non-shitty, toned down relationship fanfiction out there in whatever fandom-land and it isn't fit for an 8 year old or boring as hell, maybe a few people will grow more partial to it and get a better grasp on how relationships can work beyond the bedroom/couch/back seat/kitchen counter.
