Netflix definitely revives some older fandoms. But it's more likely to be in a "chatting on Twitter" sense of fandom rather than an old-school fic&art sense of concentrated fandom.

It is hard to get a central fandom hub up and running these days. There are no more zines to advertise in, and google's pro-corporate listings bury fandom generated sites five hundred pages in. You have to hope a creator or actor mentions it at a con, and then the con-report on the major sites pick it up too.
