I'm disgusted by the people actually defending this behavior over a fictional ship.

I am at a loss for words at how this hits me. I know the phrase 'safe space' is kind of dumb, but I've been going to conventions for decades and there was always a sense of family and watching out for your own. Football fans coming into DragonCon and attacking 'nerds' for fun is one thing, but fellow fans attacking their own is sick. It's a betrayal.

An anon yesterday said something about how maybe fans drawing attention to problematic behavior in fandom and having discussions about pedophillic behavior could be a good thing. I hope they read this. This is your pedo-hunt behavior. Trying to straight up murder REAL PEOPLE because of fictional character ships they dislike. This cannot be excused and can't be tolerated.

What. The. Fuck.

That is the most messed up thing I've read in fandom in awhile. And I agree with the anon above, I know it's not really a 'safe space' but fandom for all it's petty squabbling has always felt like a large group of friends on the same side of the weirdo wall. I know there are flame wars and wank and stalking and trolls, but this? This is a whole new level of awful.

Yeah, the anon above me linked it. It's pretty bad. The person who received the cookies was LUCKY that she didn't swallow it or more of them. That shit could have killed her.
