I'm ngl, he's got some potential...but with how fandom is with him, it'd be potential that'll greatly eclipse Rey and Finn if they had any say. I mean...EVERYTHING he did was to destroy his parents and uncle's life's work (and life in one case), but those people...don't see it and cling to woobification to justify everything.

ESPECIALLY the silly notion that his parents were terrible, when...the books clearly state that they weren't. I mean, with how Leia was shown just ON SCREEN, she clearly loved Ben and wanted him home. Just from a straight up story telling point, that is not a mom who was terrible and neglectful (i'm not gonna go all arm chair psychology here and use real life here. this is SW, they play EVERYTHING safe and straight for the most part).

The fandom just made me hate him more than the film did and in turn, I LOATHE that pairing because of it.

Ok, so I had more reasons for hating it, yeah, but the stuff in the film still ranks really high.
