There's no need to feed guilty about fantasizing about real people - it's completely normal.

Also, you can't help who you crush on.

I don't see a problem with fantasizing about actors as long as you aren't in a situation where you are working with them or tell them about it in any way (so basically don't be that embarrassing fan on social media.)

I crush on characters as well but I don't mind fantasizing about actors because I have no interest in meeting them so they are almost like a character in my mind.

I get the strong sense that OP's opinion is more about their own personal issues and stuff rather than anything else?

IDk tho

I can't tell if this is stock art or a weird piece of Rugrats fanart.

& also whatever makes you feel less creepy, OP. I crush on real people and my faves but I'd rather leave it at that than, by some freak coincedence, somehow enter a relationship with them and have my idealism destroyed.

I have met some celebrities I admired and most of these were very positive experiences.

Eh, to me crushing on an actor or celebrity isn't that much different than crushing on a fictional character. They're equally unreal as far as I'm concerned. I don't know them, I'll never meet them. My concept of them as a person is every bit as made up as a fictional character.

Yeah, same.

For me it's not that I feel weird or creepy finding a celebrity hot it's that I will always love the character they play more because I get to actually see them live their lives and grow attached to them as a fake-person. Whereas random celebrity no.2 I find attractive? I'll only ever get a glimmer of what they're like, so while I might think they seem nice or cute I don't actually know them so that base-line attraction never develops beyond that.
