Most people I meet, I expect them to be pretty out of the know about social justice topics.

Basically I expect them to be ignorant about things, and i'm sadly usually right.

it's like a music snob, they're right that music the music you listen to sucks, but damn if you're gonna take that

Oh i'm not saying that these are terrible people and can't be changed, just that where I live + the demographics, there's a better chance they aren't aware and they're not.

I socialize with a LOT of people through my job, and personally, I find that the men I meet have probably a three-to-one chance of being either oblivious or actively hostile about social justice issues. For women, though, I'd flip those stats. I'd give it a three-to-one chance they have a decent working awareness of social justice issues.
