(Anonymous) 2017-05-24 12:23 am (UTC)(link)I don't see the problem with "pooling low in the belly" though. I haven't used that phrase myself, but it seems more solidly descriptive rather than flowery, and it seems to me a pretty good description of how arousal can feel.
For me, I just don't like unnatural "alternative" epithets for normal things. Like calling eyes "orbs" (unless you're really focusing on how hypnotic it is or that kind of phrase otherwise has a purpose), weird words for genitals, and in anime fic, any descriptor of hair color like "bluenette" for someone with blue hair - especially as an epithet.
