You don't need to remember all the stuff in the previous books--there are enough gentle but unobtrusive reminders.

And I recommend the graphic novels, too, if you're into those kinds of things in general. They're great! (The world can always use more Peter Grant, Beverly Brook, and Thomas Nightingale.)

Wait, are the comics separate stories? i thought they were adaptations! Granted, i'll admit i didn't pay much attention to them and only saw the first couple of titles floating around when they started coming out. (might pick them up eventually, now that i have a tablet to read them on. Hm.....)

And yeah, i suppose the newest book probably has some reminders in it, and i'm sure i'll remember a bunch of things when i actually get around to reading it. Actually, i just finished the book i was currently reading, so i might do just that!

(secret maker here)

Are they worth it? I'm not usually a fan of graphic novels. I've been on the fence about spending that much to read a story arc.

Yes. They are in-canon illustrated short stories that are occasionally referenced in the main books. You won't lose out on the main story arc (much, Nightwitch is pretty arc heavy and relevant as it partly deals with Lesley's post Skygarden transition) by not reading them but you will miss out on a lot of fun character stuff which does complement the main series.
